TOEFL Exam preparation course
Students who want to do part of their programme abroad are often required to complete a TOEFL® test and achieve a specific score. The TOEFL® exam consists of Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking. The Exam Preparation course addresses all skills and the instructor will offer help and advice on how to approach the exam questions.

Participants are expected to have English language skills comparable to VWO level, or at B2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

The TOEFL® Exam Preparation Course is not just a general English language course, but at the same time addresses the skills needed to study in English. Participants learn how to take notes effectively, how to summarise both verbally and on paper, how to recognise important information, and how to process new words without using a dictionary.
The main focus of the lessons is speaking. Most of the reading, writing and listening tasks will be set as homework – leaving as much time as possible for speaking. Grammar is only addressed when necessary.
Students are expected to be on time, complete their homework and study every day.
At the end of the course, participants will be ready to take a TOEFL® exam. The TOEFL® test is offered in two formats: the TOEFL iBT™, administered in an internet-based format, or the TOEFL PBT, administered in a paper-based format. The format you take depends on the location of your test center. The TOEFL iBT test is offered 30 – 40 times a year at more than 4,500 authorized test centers throughout the world. Most test takers take the internet-based test. In The Netherlands, the internet-based test is available in Amsterdam, Arnhem and Velp. The costs of the test are $225.
