Frequently asked questions about the start of your study year.

Does the department have an introductory programme?

No. The new students are invited to contact beforehand the Chair of the department, prof. dr. A. Lubotsky and make an appointment to discuss their individual study programmes.

Where and when is my first lecture?

This will depend on your individual programme. The first obligatory class for all MA students of Comparative Indo-European Linguistics is Capita Selecta I on Tuesday September 13th at 11.15 hrs.

Where can I buy my study books and teaching material?

There are a few bookshops at the Breestraat in Leiden where you can look for your course books. You can also try and order your books on the internet. Some reading materials will be distributed during the courses. The reading lists are listed in the course descriptions in the e-prospectus.
